OK, so Mrs. Kepple (Lisa Clunie's mother) has corrected yesterday's post. Tennessee WASN'T the first "educational show" for kids, she says "DING DONG SCHOOL" was the first show aimed at educating kids. Starting from 1953-1957, and then from 1959-1965.
It is arguable as to whether it was "entertaining while educating," but let's leave the viewer to decide.
The interesting thing is that General Mills sponsored this, too. Good for them.
PS...what a great idea to have a chalkboard on the back of the box. Amazing.
The host of the show was named Miss Frances and she was awesome!
