We hit Geek Nirvana last week, getting to work with and then actually EAT with MAD Magazine legend Sergio Aragones, on a yet-to-be- announced project. We had Chines food in Topanga Canyon (he picked the place) and explained to us how difficult it is to cook "slippery shrimp." Manny particularly enjoyed grilling him the whole time about details of his early career. He taught himself English by reading old EC comics while sleeping in the offices overnight. He was a fan of MAD before he got to work for them. He had plenty of great stories, some of them about cooking and cars, and was generally a super nice guy. We hope to work with him more, but in the meanwhile, we are happy to plug his new BONGO comic, "Sergio Aragones Funnies." Also below is a pretty awesome one pager from SIMPSONS Comics, and since we are such big Batman fans, why not throw in a SERGIO BATMAN sculpture! When the work we are doing with him is done, we will preview it here!
