Well, it's Oct 1st, and that means it is time for Halloween, and of course, The Monster Cereals; Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo berry. We have been lucky enough to have something to do with these brands over the last several years, although there have not been any new TV commercials since 2000.
This clip is a very rare item indeed. We put this together, basically as fans. The soundtrack is the original recording from a 45RPM "flexi-disc," found on backs of boxes of Monster Cereals. You would cut the back of the box out, and put it on a turntable and "voila," a 5 minute radio-play featuring the Monsters.
We found MP3's of these awhile back, and decided to animate about a minute of it. I'll post the full 5 minute soundtrack tomorrow (sans animation, sadly.)
Pat Giles did the layouts and character designs, Manny Galan did the paint and color, Justin Roth did the animation, and Tracy Bacilek designed the exterior castle. Of course the voices are the original voice of Count Chocula, Jim Dukas, and the original voice of Franken Berry, Bob McFadden. Not sure of the announcer, and we think the voice of Boo-Berry is a stand-in, and not the voice of the legendary Paul Frees, who among other classic voices, is probably best known for being the voice in Disney's "Haunted Mansion."

I had a yellow lab who had a giant berry nose so I named him Franken Berry. In my fantasy, I would have also gotten a chocolate lab and named him Count Chocula and a black lab called Boo Berry!
